From December of 2023 to June of 2025, I worked as the Social Media Coordinator for FC Tulsa, a USL Championship soccer team based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The USL Championship operates in the second division of the US Soccer system.
As the Social Media Coordinator, I was responsible for the development and execution of social media strategies. I ensured that the strategies executed across the team's social media pages worked along side the overall marketing strategies and aligned with the brand. I was also responsible for the tracking of social media analytics which I did through a Google Spreadsheet, I created. This spreadsheet was used to track weekly social media analytics as well as the year-to-date numbers.
I was also responsible for monitoring the team's social media channels to ensure that a positive online community was fostered which meant answering questions from fans to the best of my knowledge or providing a contact within the organization that would be able to provide a more detailed answer, escalating concerns to the appropriate employee.
The biggest part of my job as Social Media Coordinator was content ideation, creation and the execution of that content to the team's social channels. I am a chronically online individual, which allows me to stay up-to-date on what is trending on social media and figure out how to tailor what is trending to the audiences on different social media platforms. I was also responsible for capturing photos during training and gym sessions, away match departures and community events attended by players and coaches.
During my time at FC Tulsa, I worked closely with the marketing, ticketing, merchandise, communication, and partnership departments to ensure the content being put out met the organizations goals and standards. I created the club's paid social campaigns designed to drive ticket and merch sales and to increase brand awareness and was instrumental in inviting local influencers to attend the match in order to increase the brand awareness in spaces where we might not have had a huge reach previously.
