While attending Colorado State University, I was an intern for two seasons in the Marketing department, I worked athletic events for ten of the fourteen NCAA Division One sports programs that CSU has. During my second season with the Marketing department, I was the lead intern for the Men's basketball program. As the lead intern, I was tasked writing and distributing the game scripts, running in-game sponsor activations, working with our on court host, DJ, cheer and poms teams and other interns to ensure that CSU Men's Basketball provided the fans with the best game day experience possible. While I was the lead intern for Men's Basketball, I also worked events and games for the nine other teams during that time.
During games I ran lights and sound, assisted with in-game activations and assisted with tailgate set up and tear down for all home CSU football games. During my time as the lead intern for the Men's Basketball program I also created and executed a program with the student organizations on campus to attend games. The student organizations would attend games throughout the duration of the season and compete with each other in attendance numbers, most spirited group and other competitions. They also were invited to table at all home matches to expand their reach.
Below you will find three examples of game scripts I wrote and executed during my internship. I distributed these scripts to our Public Address Announcer, lights intern, sound intern, cheer coach, poms coach, video board operator, broadcast lead, on court host and our in-venue DJ.
